Inclusion

Joondalup Athletics Centre recognises that everyone has the right to equality and inclusion in the sport of athletics. We understand the equal importance of exercise upon the health of every member of our community and that people with disabilities should be provided with the same opportunities as their able-bodied peers.

We encourage people with both physical and mental disabilities to join Joondalup Athletics Centre and become a member of our community. We are passionate about encouraging participation alongside our able-bodied athletes and making adaptations where required to ensure maximum participation and enjoyment.

Where athletes require the assistance of a guide, we encourage our athletes to learn the skills required to assist their peers, providing them with opportunities, to be matched with the perfect partner to assist them in their athletics journey. This provides members with excellent partnership and trust skills for the future.

If you are considering athletics but are unsure if it is suitable for you, please contact admin to discuss the options available to you.

We look forward to welcoming people of all abilities to Joondalup Athletics Centre.

True Inclusion Method

Joondalup Athletics Centre are proud to offer the True Inclusion Method (or TIM for short) at all our Centre Competitions.

TIM is a method of recognising individual achievements and improvements in individual results.  Athletes and families are able to view their TIM results every week in Results HQ, alongside their regular results.

Athletes who have the best improvement in Personal Best will be ranked 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc for each event.
